Description
Suspension of white to cream colour.
Composition and pharmacological properties
1.0 ml of drug contains an active ingredient: megestrol acetate (synthetic progestagen) - 20 mg.
Excipients: sodium carboxylmethylcellulose, gelatin, polysorbate, citric acid, 1,2-propylene glycol, purified water.
Hormone's ability to inhibit sexual desire and ovulation is used to suspend estrus, shift the time of its origin, correction sexual behavior, as well to avoid an unwanted fertilization. Complete recovery of reproductive function comes of 2-3 months after drug cancelation.
Indications
Intended to retard or inhibit estrus in female dogs and cats (negative impact on further pregnancies is absent). The drug inhibits sexual activity and correct related behavioral problems in male dogs and cats.

Dosage and Administration
Shake the bottle with suspension before the use. "SexStop" is injected per oral with feed in small amounts or forcibly onto tongue root in following doses:
Male cats:
In case of sexual arousal signs in cats - 5 drops per 5 kg of animal body weight a day during 2 weeks for sedation, but not longer.
Female cats:
To inhibit estrus:
· cats of 1 - 5 kg – 8 drops daily;
· cats of 6 - 10 kg – 10 drops daily during 8 days from estrus start.
Do not administrate if 2 days passed from estrus start.
It's recommended to inhibit the estrus not often than twice a year. In case of impossibility to determine estrus start, it is better to retard it than inhibit.
To retard estrus:
· cats of 1 - 5 kg - 4 drops;
· cats of 6 - 10 kg - 6 drops every 2 weeks. Is administrated during the period required for estrus retard.
Female dogs:
To inhibit estrus - 20 drops per 5 kg of animal body weight within during first 3 days; from 4th to 10th day use a half of daily dose. It's recommended to use a course not more than twice a year.
To retard estrus: in 7 - 15 days prior the start of the estrus, 6 drops daily per 5 kg of animal body weight. Maximum course duration - 32 days.
Male dogs:
To decrease sexual arousal - 20 drops per 5 kg of animal body weight within 7 days, not later the second day since sexual arousal start.
Contraindications
Do not use to animals with diseases of the reproductive system (pyometra, metritis, endometritis), breast tumors, diabetes mellitus, to non-reproductive animals.
Do not administrate during pregnancy and lactation. Administration to young females before the first estrus or in shape of anestrus therapy within sexual cycle disorders is not recommended.
